It has less to do with money, politics, or belief that is behind things, nor so much sociology:
The main issue is culture and defining the conventional wisdom or thoughts around that culture.
The fact is you probably have much less culture than you realize and your mind may not be using operative intelligence as much as you think. Plus essential virtues may have not been passed down to you.
With out culture human beings can't be really human.
